Nas and Kelis, two amazing and creative artist wed in 2003. To the public the pair was ideal. Even after all of these years, their marital image had been squeaky clean. Until recently, Kelis sat with Hollywood Unlocked in an exclusive interview. Nas’ ex-wife explains, she woke up and decided that she would not hold her tongue any longer.
The interview details their relationship, from being young and in love, to maturing and falling out of love. Kelis recounts occasions when Nas would become belligerently drunk and physically abuse her. She recalls the night Rihanna’s domestic violence pictures surfaced. She says she was in that moment, covered in bruises herself and didn’t have the courage to submit them to the public.”I didn’t want that to be my career.” she explained.
This interview is full of surprises. Kelis also spotlights Nas’ absentee fathering and she touches on the public encouraging her to get back with Nas. On more than one occasion Nas has not been there for their child, Kelis claims that Nas is for the public. She also denounces that she wants anything to do with him.
