In the words of DJ Khaled, Philly is hitting us with #AnotherOne. FlashGrfx aka Mr. Clutch is the industry’s best kept secret when it comes to pairing sound with sight. It is truly a gift to hear a song and see an image for it. Graphic design is a tedious process that Flash has mastered, and that is evident in all of his creations. Flash has worked with some of the hottest talent out, and I’m sure you’re familiar with them. Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Shy Glizzy, Allen Iverson, G Herbo, Kash Doll, My Mixtapez, and Love & Hip Hop LA to name a few. Most recently, Flash crafted Gucci Mane’s album cover for The Return of East Atlanta Santa. BURR!
My personal favorite Flash graphic, is the cover for Meek Mill’s critically-acclaimed mixtape, DC4.
The cover is a testament to overcoming tribulations and not letting your circumstances define your future. It is a quick look into all of the struggles Meek faced as a young black man growing up and trying to find his way beyond the harsh streets of Philadelphia. It is a collage of mugshots and arrest records. This design is genius, it shows you that if you focus and you really want success, it is yours for the taking.
