Refreshing, intense, heavenly, and smooth are all words that describe the musical styling of Josh Waters.
Swooning his listeners, the Mississippi native is sure to mesmerize the masses. I recently had the pleasure of seeing Josh perform live at The Meadows in Brooklyn, NY. I was blown away and instantly became a fan.
Waters has been singing most of his life. His mother, a former singer and son provide immense inspiration. He credits his family as his driving force to pursue music. Recording his first song at 14, the 27-year-old has developed colossally. The fine tuning of his voice and sound are evident, his debut album 143 features Domani Harris and production from BIG K.R.I.T. The bar has been set very high from the beginning of his career, now in the full swing of the journey there seems to be no ceiling to how amazing he can be.
After moving to Atlanta Josh partnered with BNDWTH and super producer, WLPWR. “I stumbled upon BNDWTH my third year being here and they took me in. Developed me, WLPWR began producing my music and getting me ready for the next level. I’ve been running ever since.” His dedication is displayed in what he likes to call his “road to 52.” During the pandemic Waters released 52 singles, one every Wednesday for a year straight. He then compiled the songs into compilation albums, creating projects: The Diamond Suit, The Heart Suit, The Spade Suit, and The Club Suit.
His genuine nature translates through his music and is paired with a voice that puts your heart at ease. One of my absolute favorite songs by him is a melody entitled Cyclone, it’s a beautifully climatic story of a lost love.
