Lucky Daye Gets Left “On Read”

Lucky Daye and the UK’s Tiana Major9 gift us with an exciting R&B single. Daye is one of the new faces of R&B, offering his sweet, sultry vocals to any song he blesses the track. Tiana Major9 is on her way to the top of everyone’s search bar. The 20 year-old hails from Newham, England and draws influence from Jazz music and Lauryn Hill. Check out her interview with Flaunt Mag here to learn about our good sis. On Read is the classic battle of the sexes record.

The striking chords of the guitar invite us on a roller coaster ride of “which of us will win this?” Major responds to Daye’s discrepancy with a dismissal, disregarding his plea. Who do you think had the upper hand by the end of the song? Check it out below and let me know on Instagram or in the comments!

Roles Reverse in Mahalia's "I Wish I Missed My Ex"

Usually when a relationship or situationship has ended, it’s usually the ladies calling for closure. Not this time.

Mahalia is an actress, singer, and songwriter hailing all the way from the U.K. who has been breaking her way into the U.S. music scene. She’s been writing music since the age of eight and acted in a UK based movie, Brotherhood. The singer has released a few EPs featuring production from frequent collaborator to Drake, Nineteen85.
“I Wish I Missed My Ex” is a breezy walk in the park. The cheerful beat negates the heartbreak associated with ending relationships. Mahalia beats her counterpart to the punch of falling out of love faster:

Every time the weekend comes, yeah
I know that it won’t be long, yeah
Til you‘re gonna call my phone, yeah
You’ll be like ‘Babe, come over’
I know how this goes, yeah
Talk about you need closure
Too many missed calls, too many texts
Damn I wish I missed my ex

Rihanna is the Only Girl in the World!

BadGirlRiRi is taking over September’s issue of Wmag. Rihanna portrays “pop’s Furiosa, the last woman on earth and the ruling warrior queen in a dark, dystopian future.” This editorial was created by Edward Enninful, Steven Klein and “A list” fashion designers such as Margiela, Prada, and Dior. Rihanna poses as the commander of what is left of the free world.
The gallery for these images is fierce! The styling by Edward Enninful and set direction by Stefan Beckman put us right in the middle of Rihanna’s post-apocalyptic domain. It looks like Rih really is the “Only Girl (In The World.)”
