Meet: Smoove Dinero

Smoove Dinero is an emerging artist from Bridgeport, CT who’s found a home in Brooklyn, NY. The 21 year-old rapper got his start in music at a young age. Having older cousins and uncles who rapped, young Smoove followed suit.
My uncles and older cousins & sh*t. They used to rap back in the day and they was the sh*t back then. They used to take me to the studio & after I knew that I wanted to be a rapper eventually, I started making beats when I was 13 & started Making legit music at 19-20.” He explained.

Dinero’s music style is edgy and upbeat. His music is for the lively at heart. He credits some of rap’s favorite artists as influences. Artists such as: Future, Young Thug, Zaytoven, Yung Gleesh, A$ap Rocky, Chief Keef and Fredo Santana. He also daunts a clothing style of his own, making it a point to be comfortable and yet fashionable.

I asked “What’s your favorite project to have worked on so far?” To which he replied “D.O.A 2 so far.. not my best music but the process of making it was just fun. I would just get high af with the homies and bang out hella music. Positive vibes good energy. That’s very important in music today, have fun with it. I got some unreleased shit that’s fire. I just did a song on a Dolan beats too That shit gonna go dummy.”
The artwork for his music is intriguing. Dinero’s covers and videos all give me a cinematic feel. I wondered if he was a movie lover and binged watched shows for hours on end. One of his singles featured artwork similar to the Netflix original series Stranger Things (which I thought was cool lol).

My theories were busted when he made it clear how things came together. He says that things fell in line by coincidence.
I wanted to know who made the killer beat for the banger “Monster.” “ My n*gga Akachi! “Lol it’s funny cause I never watched the stranger things but people was tellin me that’s what it sound like & even the video the intro they say that’s how the stranger things start off so yeah.”
We can expect some more crazy visuals from Smoove, until keep yup with Mr. Dinero on all social media platforms.

Kygo and Miguel Help us Forget Love

There’s no room for feelings in war…

Similar to the innovation of Calvin Harris, Norwegian DJ Kygo employs Miguel for his latest single.

“Remind Me to Forget” is a liberating song about forgetting the scars of love. The song is enchanting. Miguel belts “I know you’re no good for me, so I forget the memories.” The lesson is to not let lost love hurt us, but to let it develop us. I think it’s the first “love song” that makes me happy. Check it out if you’re experiencing a heartbreak. Release all of the hurt and accept new love and happiness.

One on One with: Fitzgerald

I recently had the chance to interview a charismatic upcoming artist from New Haven, Connecticut.
Fitzgerald is an intrinsic artist on the rise. As a child he knew being a musician was his destiny. “I’ve always been into the arts, when I was in diapers I’d be dancing all over the place.” He recollected. The 23 year-old made the move to Atlanta a few years back where he briefly attended Morehouse and began forging his musical journey.
I was able to preview some new music and a visual from Fitz and I am absolutely in love with the melodies. CaliforniaKingDreamin’ and Thinking About You are both personal inquisitions for a good time of lust, maybe even love. However, the two tunes differentiate as Thinking About You is more about infatuation and CaliforniaKingDreamin’  is a memory of love, the wish to return to it and a potential future.

Of course I had to see if a special someone inspired these songs. “I am currently single like a dollar bill! “Thinking About You” was inspired by someone I am currently chatting with but it’s nothing deep as of now.” He explained. So, lucky for anyone who’s interested, Fitz is still on the market. The soulful songwriter says: “I write from a very fluid standpoint. When I say that, I mean I want my music to be for both him and her. Life is a general experience and my music reflects as such. I write for those who can identify with self-acknowledgement and accepting their actions right or wrong.” He makes it easy for a true R&B lover to get lost in his music.
The fashion forward singer has a unique look to fit his standout sound. Fitzgerald attributes Pharrell Williams for his style inspo.
R&B’s contending front runner has been influenced by Pharrell, 3 Stacks, Carl Thomas, Frank Ocean, and Eric Bellinger. Fitz aspires to become a mogul and share his talents with the with the world.
Follow Fitzgerald on Instagram to stay up to date with his latest endeavors.
