The brilliant folks at Genius aka Rap Genius, put together an amazing series of in-depth conversations with the music world’s greatest minds. It’s absolutely impossible to count how many hits The-Dream has. Rob Markman took on the the difficult task as he sat down with “Mr. Radio Killer.”
I also had the pleasure of asking The-Dream a question.
“How do you ultimately choose which artist gets the song? #GeniusLevel the money or the talent? lol ” – My words exactly.
DJ Kay Slay rounds up one hell of a posse for his latest drop, “Cold Summer.” The single is off an upcoming collaborative album entitled Big Brother, set to be released September 29, 2017. Kendrick Lamar, Kevin Gates, Mac Miller, and Rell emanate many different aspects of a Cold Summer. Check out the soulful story line below and let me know what you think in the comments!

PartyNextDoor has released four new tracks in the last two weeks. What could he be up to? Is he prepping us for a new album? Earlier this summer he released the sultry Colours 2 and reminded us why we fell in love with his music. I think these are throwaway tracks and Party is about to drop within the the next month or two. Until we get an official album check my playlist below with the latest from FIESTA!
Jay Z’s album Reasonable Doubt turns 20 this year, and to celebrate the milestone Roc-A-Fella co-founder Kareem âBiggsâ Burke is opening a pop-up shop at APT 4B in Los Angeles. The space will be a replica of Jay Z’s apartment in Brooklyn from the 1990s. In a recent interview with Billboard, Burke spills that the shop will sell Reasonable Doubt t-shirts, cassettes, and other nostalgic memorabilia. Some of the merchandise will even be continued into its own Reasonable Doubt line afterwards. The shop will open this Saturday June 25, the 20th anniversary of the album, and will remain open through July.

Hypefresh Mag and Ubiq apparel teamed up to host the 20th Anniversary pop-up shop at their store in Center City, Philadelphia. I had the opportunity to help power the event and be apart of Hip-Hop history.
Biggs also sat down with the hosts of the popular podcast, RapRadar, to talk about his latest ventures.
DJ Matman, Wax Poetics and WhoSampled teamed up to celebrate Jay Zâs seminal Reasonable Doubt with a 20th anniversary mix. A combination of expert blending and exhaustive research, the 50 minute mixtape combines tracks from Hovâs 1996 full-length debut with alternate takes, interview snippets and original samples. Mixing to this degree is a talent! Check out the tracks below.

It ain’t over until the fat lady sings or until someone’s “Baby’s Moma” is involved. The running feud between Yo Gotti, Blac Youngsta, and Young Dolph has just been reignited. Dolph drops off a new diss that will surely ruffle some feathers. Most of the shots are at Gotti, which is pretty surprising being as though he’s been rather removed from the beef between Youngsta and Dolph…

In the words of DJ Khaled, Philly is hitting us with #AnotherOne. FlashGrfx aka Mr. Clutch is the industry’s best kept secret when it comes to pairing sound with sight. It is truly a gift to hear a song and see an image for it. Graphic design is a tedious process that Flash has mastered, and that is evident in all of his creations. Flash has worked with some of the hottest talent out, and I’m sure you’re familiar with them. Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Shy Glizzy, Allen Iverson, G Herbo, Kash Doll, My Mixtapez, and Love & Hip Hop LA to name a few. Most recently, Flash crafted Gucci Mane’s album cover for The Return of East Atlanta Santa. BURR!Â
My personal favorite Flash graphic, is the cover for Meek Mill’s critically-acclaimed mixtape, DC4.
The cover is a testament to overcoming tribulations and not letting your circumstances define your future. It is a quick look into all of the struggles Meek faced as a young black man growing up and trying to find his way beyond the harsh streets of Philadelphia. It is a collage of mugshots and arrest records. This design is genius, it shows you that if you focus and you really want success, it is yours for the taking.
